St.
John the Baptist Parish Religious Education
classes provide instruction and formation
in the Catholic Faith to students attending
public and non-Catholic private schools in
preschool and grades K-8. Enrollment stands
at nearly 650 students served by predominately
a volunteer faculty and assistants. St. John’s
Parish Religious Education is administered
by one Director of Religious Education and
one administrative assistant.
Office
hours are from 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p. m. Tuesday
through Friday and during Parish Religious
Education sessions on Sunday mornings. The
Office of Religious Education is located in
the Fr. Murphy Education Center, Telephone
(256) 325-8580 or (256) 722-8590. |
Schedule
The
academic year for Parish Religious Education
runs from early September through early May.
All sessions take place in the Fr. Murpy Education
Center. Preschool classes for children ages
3 and 4 meet on Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m.
and 11:15 a. m. Grades K-8 meet on Sunday
mornings at 9:45 a. m. until 11:00 a. m.
Our High School
Religious Education classes are primarily
focused on the preparation for the Sacrament
of Confirmation and are under the direction
of the Coordinator of Youth and Family Life

St.
John’s Parish School of Religion follows the
Madison County School System’s Policy regarding
closing schools due to inclement weather.
If you are unsure if there will be classes,

Information – Please note

All listed sacramental parent meetings are
mandatory. We ask that at least one parent
be in attendance at these meetings.

Information regarding the sessions for the
Catechesis in Creating a Safe Environment
will be announced via the parish bulletin.
These classes have been scheduled for January
15, 2006, for Grades K-H.S.
